KCC has set a goal to identify safety issues related to cycle commuting in Kamloops that could be improved with small changes. This might include green paint to clearly indicate where motor vehicles should expect to see cyclists in intersections, speed bumps or rumble strips to slow traffic in areas with dangerous speeding issues or signage such as ‘Cyclists to Take the Lane’ in construction areas where traffic lanes are constrained. 

While the changes may be simple to adopt, it should be noted that the problems they seek to resolve can be extremely serious to cyclists.
